Our Mission and Vision
Our Mission: To empower and uplift underprivileged, orphaned, and vulnerable children by providing them access to quality education, essential resources, holistic support, and opportunities. We can build a brighter future for the next generation through community engagement and partnerships with local and global volunteers.
Our Vision: A school that creates a nurturing environment where every child can thrive, learn, grow, and realize their full potential and success.
1976
The school was founded, and the first classes started.
2019
Milka Achieng is committed to aiding vulnerable children and enjoys hosting volunteers who support her efforts. She teaches, handles administrative tasks, and mobilizes community and NGO support for the school. In her spare time, she tends to her gardens at home.
2021
I personally was blessed with a positive impact from a volunteer-based program in my childhood. I decided to pay it forward and have been volunteering at God Bura School for three years now. In addition to mobilizing volunteers globally, I also teach at the school. After earning my degree in psychology, I have been working to counsel traumatized children. In my free time, I enjoy hiking and watching sunsets.

Our sister school Aalborghus from Denmark - starting supporting with teachers and students volunteering and bring much needed supplies and continues their annual visits. We are blesssed
2023
Partnership with the Pierce American School in Greece - online and they donated laptops.
2024
Start of the independent volunteering program
1. 2 Classrooms were fully painted and decorated with the help of a volunteer - Natascha Filipovic from Germany.
2. A new school garden was fenced, land prepared and planted by the help of Natascha and her friends.
3. Kindergatens received 10 wooden chairs from a volunteer Melinda Whitfield who donated.
4. 5 desks were made after a volunteer Nikolai donated and 7 more desks were also purchased from a donation by Natascha and her friends.
5. School materials and supplies and personal hygiene supplies were donated by volunteer Natascha
2025
1. Paint all classrooms
2. Increase the size and diversity of the school vegetable garden to provide healthy lunches for the children.
3. Complete building the volunteers' house from 2 bedrooms to 5 bedrooms and equip it with furniture
4. Purchase enough chairs and desks for the children. Acess to a desk for every student.
5. Buy adequate school supplies for all children and teachers.
6. Strengthen computer studies by buying at least 30 computers.
7. Achieve at least 2500 volunteer hours.
